(Please be patient while I get familiar with this new editing/writing format! Also, if you’ve been following the blog, you’ve seen two posts of Luke and Bre in fighting scenes at The Ohm Sim, and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to make a mini-story to work into Bre’s life adventures. I hope you like them and will stick with me as I get used to writing this version of posts! *smile*)
“Agent Kincaid, I know we agreed on some downtime following the recent extractions you and your husband have done recently, but I need to cut into your time off. I need you to train a new agent for your team in hand-to-hand combat. Not only are you one of the best trainers on our team, but I believe this assignment would be best handled by you, since it involves your sister. Eva was recently accepted and I had the opportunity to get her for our team. I believe that the three of you will make a really strong base for the team due to the family relationships and familiarity with one another. I wanted to wait to notify Eva of her approval to our team and about starting her training until I had contacted you. Please let me know when you are available and I will contact Agent Eva.”
Bre was absolutely floored by her handler’s text. She had no idea that Eva had any desire to be an agent, especially after some of the injuries she saw Luke and Bre recover from following intense missions, but if she wanted to be an agent, thankfully she’d be in this team!
It would take extra work to not let Bre’s concerns for Eva’s safety be a distraction, just like it was a struggle when Luke was on a joint mission, but at least Eva would get some extra training and since Bre knew her weaknesses, Bre could train Eva harder in those areas. Hopefully Eva would realize that Bre wouldn’t take it easy on her and starting with hand-to-hand was going to be a bloody start…
I got to document their painful and bloody training session, although I usually document Bre’s missions. I was so glad that I wouldn’t have to disinfect the mat when they were done!
Just a few rounds in, Eva had proven that she could get a few good hits in, but she wasn’t ready for the real training to start. Bre had to be a bit ruthless and I think it caught Eva by surprise.
Eva still had trouble blocking punches, although she was much quicker to avoid any kicks or sweeps. I was impressed that she managed to land a great hit that immediately began to blossom into a black eye on Bre, but the blood was starting to fly.
I was impressed that Eva managed to keep going until she had gotten some great hits in, even started to block punches, and kept going for a while despite breaking her nose. Bre may have been doing this for a while, but I know that she still hated getting sprayed when a nose breaks. She worked hard to not be squeamish about blood, but apparently there’s a part that’s still girly enough to be grossed out about anything from someone else’s nose getting on her. Wiping her kids’ noses is one thing; getting it on her is another!
I just couldn’t resist taking a picture of the aftermath of the first training fight. Poor Eva could hardly stand anymore, but she showed great promise. Hopefully her next round of training won’t be so bloody.
Maybe I’m a bit morbid, but I think Bre looked kind of badass in this last picture I managed to take. Boxing, blood, and bruises, all without bullets flying. Now that’s something to make an Agent smile a bit…
