Baby Bump Shoot at Moochie’s

I absolutely love going to Moochie’s sim for Fall and Winter! I was honored enough to get to chat with her a few times over the years, when she also had a very popular store, and then blown away by her landscape. Not only is Moochie’s sim beautiful with tons of places for photography, hanging out with friends, and exploring, but she even allows you to set your home location there! The generosity she’s always shown made me a loyal group member years ago, but I always look forward to exploring when she sets up a season on the sim. She even has a stream you can play during the Christmas season, which I photographed info about too.

Since Baby 3 is about to be born, a few bump-centric shoots are in order, so I found myself at Moochie’s quite often, and decided to make one post for different favorite spots on her sim.

Although I had taken a bunch of shots in this area, I love how adorkable the next pose looked and want to share it.

And here is the info from a sign on Moochie’s land for listening to the stream.

My husband and I actually came back to listen to the stream once while doing another photoshoot. Lower your WLs, pick one of the cute sitting spots around the sim, and have a relaxing time during the busy holiday season. Between the landscape and the reading at Moochie’s, your blood pressure will drop back down to normal. 😉

The Miix Event

I have been hitting the different events between wandering the beautifully decorated sims across the grid and wanted to show off one find that I was very impressed with. First, if you’re not familiar with the Seraphim website, they have a ton of info about sales with galleries, so I’m going to share the link to the Miix page here. Note: It’s SL, so some pictures on their site won’t be as modest as things I would post, but it’s a gallery picture page to show what each booth has. I’m just window shopping and not actually shopping right now, but I noticed an AO that has some cool features. Salt’n’Pepper put out Bento Set AO 4 and it is curve-friendly. I don’t know if many others struggle with this, but with a curvier avatar while Bre is pregnant, I’ve noticed that almost every non-pregnancy related AO I have tends to have some animations that cause arms and hands to go into the avatar body or they’re super exaggerated to accomodate a fluffy ballroom gown. Although Salt’n’Pepper’s AO is a bit pricier than I normally pay, if I was going to keep the fuller figure that Bre currently has, I think it’s definitely worth it. They have a demo at the event, so you can try it out and check if it works for your figure (I know it seems obvious, but I totally didn’t think of it a few times, so make sure to cam around your avi while trying the demo, to see if arms seem too far away from the body during movements, such as an idle movement of brushing hair back). And I admit that I am a sucker for a more elegant and less fidgety AO, despite my tendency to go for whimsy or adorkable. Just look at their ad!

And now to show you a few of my favorite ones I took pictures of, to show how it works with the Zooby LoveMomma Persephone body at almost full term…

Sometimes a nice stand without the hands up is super handy, in my opinion.

This is honestly the first AO where her hand hasn’t clipped into her hip or her arm through her torso, or been awkwardly further than the body frame is.

And I don’t use bags often, but this looks like it’d be perfect with a clutch. It’s still a dash posh to me, so I kind of love it. lol

I’ve discovered so many events and items I probably would never have come across in my usual grid travels, and it also helps me remember what events are going on since I might have an issue with capping out my groups and notifications… 🙂

Fall Adventures Part 2

If you aren’t a member of Luane’s World or go there often, I highly recommend it. Not only is it an incredible set of sims for photography, but the landscape has so many little scenes that make it a super versatile location, but the landscape changes often and it’s so beautiful that it’s a great place for anybody to wander. Winter landscaping is coming, so if you’d like to check our how Luane has crafted the main sim, go explore it soon. (I highly recommend Luane’s Magical World, as well, which is part of the set of sims and there are teleporters to get you around to different areas that Luane creates. The Magical area is a gorgeous setting for ethereal pictures.)

I love the hint of a New England feeling to the landing zone and nearby areas, and there are so many little details to take in. You can wander about a neat little set of houses with lush trees and bushes that are set near some neat water elements. Although it is recommended to use the sim’s WL settings for best viewing, one of my favorite things is to see how Luane’s looks with different WLs, and then I used my LumiPro to help Bre pop in the more muted WL.

One thing I also love about Luane’s is that there isn’t a set path. Wander between the houses, go over to the lake, or get lured down the path to the right; this is a location that is meant to be explored and enjoyed. And if you’re into landscaping but on the amateur side like me, you’ll find tons of ideas and items for your wishlist every time you visit. *grin*

If you wander beyond the first portion of the landing sim, you’ll get to explore a variety of different scenes and photography opportunities. This is a neat cabin on a little hill and the adorable bear sitting to the left in the picture is actually animated, so it stands and has a cycle of movements. When I realized that I was watching the bear moving at the tree just as much as my avatar was, I knew I had to take a snapshot. *laugh* IRL I was a lot more delighted than the slightly concerned look I went for on Bre. *wink*

There are even neat little pastures, barns, and caravans to explore! This was literally just down the steps from a caravan I discovered!

The road you just traveled and enjoyed, the road ahead that is less traveled but holds adventure, or shall we take the right path toward the well-traveled yet picturesque little town? Seriously, if only I could have traded spots with my avatar at that moment! Fairy lights in a wooden bridge, a light fog decending on the New England-styled town, and a beautiful landscape at every turn…

Fall Wandering Part 1

I think SL is a spectacular environment to embrace and soak up Fall/Autumn and Winter landscapes, decor, and sims. A lot of games/systems try to simulate seasons, but I truly love all of the creativity and skillfully designed within SL the best. (I’m not knocking how adorable Sim’s Cottage Living can be with Autumn, but I’m being objective here. *grin*) Although Halloween is quite the celebrated event in SL, gothic details can be appreciated throughout the year when used well, so I decided that I’d also feature a few favorite items I discovered during my Fall Wandering that were featured for Halloween, but I think there are more opportunities that make them either a good buy or a great location, and want to share. 🙂

If you follow my blogs or even Flickr, you know I am working through grieving the loss of my RL mother, so I’ve been slowly getting back into the “swing of things” in SL, and I’ve been late to a lot of events and such. One was the much-loved (and sometimes hated) Shop And Hop. I also am not above taking screenshots in stores of animations if I like the set up and such, so don’t pay attention to the sale signs in a few pictures. *laugh* For the record, I was so impressed I actually bought the featured item, but the store stall was set up cute enough that I wasn’t going to try to compete. The CHEZ MOI Cute Tomb (PG) is definitely an adorable additional to any Fall or Halloween decor, but if you’re a fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas like me, then it can arguably be pretty perfect for most of the year if you like to have little peaceful spots tucked away in your landscape with a bonus of cute poses included.

This animation pulls at my heartstrings honestly and if you cammed differently, did a different background, etc., I can see this being an awesome prop for a memorial picture. There’s something so realistic and believable with this pose, in my opinion.

Add in a change of WL and using LumiPro to assist with lighting, and I think this is a really nice pic taken right there at Shop And Hop. I added a bit of contrast using my computer’s pic program, but no PS or such, and even with a less popular mesh body that carries the skeleton slightly differently due to being a pregnancy body, there aren’t clipped limbs even! (At 8 months PG in world, a lot of animations are now having some difficulty with the arms/hands disappearing into the baby bump *laugh*.)

And how cute is this one?! Ignore the wonky finger pose from the natural hand positions getting a bit, well, wonky, please. lol This would be perfect for taking pics with sitting Zooby toddlers or so neat in a little Fall foliage landscape.

One last picture that shows how there are subtle postional changes within the animations that makes me like this decor prop so much that I splurged for a Chez Moi item which is usually beyond my budget. I am honestly seriously impressed with this little prop and plan to have it as part of my landscape most of the year (and not being supported or even blogging for the company). I love a versatile landscape and decor prop, and a little Jack smile puts it in my fav decor file. *smile*

Bring On the Knits!

There is something about Christmas music that makes me unpack every knit, hoodie, and cardi I own and start wearing them, even if it’s only down in the 60s instead of actually cold. Apparently I have the same inclination in SL as well. *grin* When I saw a new item at Whimsical Designs along with a new group gift over at Carol’s Store, I couldn’t resist getting cozy in world.

Whimsical Designs came out with the cute Veronica Sweater in Glitter that comes with a HUD in the megapack (I swear that I own more Fatpacks and Megapacks than individual outfits anymore; you always have enough options for a seasonal look plus daily wear, so they’re totally worth the investment in my book). You can pair it with the Luna Skirt that is on display in the store with it, but I found that the sweater pairs with almost anything, and since I am in a cozy mood, I paired it with some leggings and comfy socks while hanging out at our cabin. The Luna Skirt is really cute too, with a sexy little cut up the thigh, and since Bre is so pregnant I’m going to hold onto that cutie for when the baby has been born and I can pair it with a cropped tee, I think. (I love versatility and am so thankful that designers are making mix and match pieces for the LoveMomma Body now!) Anyway, a cup of steaming tea in a rocking chair with cozy clothes automatically came to mind when I saw the sweater and I just had to share.

I loved this pic that I wanted it to be my first, despite the leg going over the arm of the chair a bit, but wanted to show the sweater off a little better, so here’s one where Bre isn’t all curled up and chatty.

Like I said, super versatile and cozy! It was a blustery day in The Midwest, so I just loved how this turned out! If you get the Megapack, you get options for the green, grey, purple, blue, and a pink/fuschia. (Yep, I’ll totally do the grey sweater with some yoga leggings while setting up the new nursery area. I think it’ll be a perfect combo with more bang for your buck, or linden as the case may be. *smile*)

When I got the notice about the new group gift at Carol’s Store for a Winter Dress and saw that it was a knit design, I raced over despite the crazy region crashes today. *grin* Since the gift comes in Christmas red I thought I’d pair it with a set of Whimsical Designs stockings that has a choice of 4 tops (and can be tinted right in the AvLove Momma HUD too!) and some ballet flats from KC. By the way, if I haven’t mentioned it and you have an AvLove Momma body, I seriously recommend KC Couture for body-friendly shoes. They come in nearly every female body type it seems.

I’m not often one for a sweater or t-shirt dress, but it was knit and I’m a sucker for the cuteness. The hint of lace at the top of the WD stockings really amped up the gift, in my opinion. Thank goodness it’s not snowy quite yet! *grin* Anyway, I just had to make a quick post with these little cuties, especially if any LoveMommas are needing some cute clothes that work not just for the holiday season, but for winter, too. I don’t know about you, but if I’m cold IRL, I don’t want a cropped or ruffled top in SL, so some nice knits will pull me in every time, especially when I have some versatile options! Here comes the credit where credit is due…

Settling into the new home

The time before Luke left on his mission seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. They were able to take some of the essentials to the new house, but the agency would have a service deliver their remaining belongings shortly after he left, which was probably good because it would help pass the time without dwelling on Luke being away on a mission without her for the first time.

Bre and Luke discovered a neat area on the property; wooded with a pavilion and Bre couldn’t wait to work on the landscaping and adding more Fall decor. One of the upsides to having a smaller home was a lot of land for everyone to enjoy.

After exploring some of the property the day before, on the last day they took Niall and Emma to the pavilion and Emma couldn’t resist taking advantage of a nearby hay bale that she and her brother had been playing on to feel the baby move. Bre felt like her heart would burst from the love and joy of this beautiful moment of the family together at their new home.

Niall was more interested in his thumb than feeling the baby move, but Emma took full advantage of the moment. It was hard for Emma to believe that Bre’s tummy could be so big!

The night before he left, Luke had a sweet little talk with Baby Bump in the soft light of their sparsely filled bedroom. He hated going on a mission with Bre pregnant, especially knowing how much danger was involved, and leaving them to settle into a new home pretty much on their own, but it was moments like tonight’s that he would carry with him for the next few weeks and he knew they would sustain him when he was worried about his safety. A precious family was waiting back at home for him, so he had to make it back no matter what.

Just Tell Me

“It was really nice to have a date night tonight, Luke. It’s been a long time since we dressed up and went somewhere nice…It seems like we’ve spent all of our free time with Emma and Niall the past couple of months and forgot to take a little time off together.”

“Bre, it’s been a wonderful night and I hate to ruin how relaxing it has been, especially now, but I have put off talking about this for too long and ran out of time.”

“Um, Luke, you’re making me kind of nervous, making such a serious comment. Quit staring into space and just tell me please!”

Luke moved and pulled his wife into his lap so they could talk. “I know we agreed to stop working at least until this baby is a few months old, but The Agency called and asked me to take on a mission. It’s a big one and they said I’d be a real asset on this one…I told them yes. I know I should have talked it over with you back when they called, and I shouldn’t have given an answer until we talked, but, I just…I guess I felt I couldn’t walk away when he said they really wanted me to come back in for this mission. I’m so sorry for not telling you sooner and for agreeing without talking to you. And I’m sorry I probably ruined our night out…” Luke replied miserably.

“Luke! You didn’t ruin our time together, but what if something happens? That’s why we agreed to take a break and later on decide if we want to go back into the field. How long before you leave? How long do they think the mission will take? If they made you feel like they need you, then it has to be really dangerous!”

Luke looked down at his feet and then back at Bre. “I leave the day after tomorrow. They called three weeks ago and I’ve been trying to find a way to tell you what I had agreed to, but couldn’t find the nerve. It should only be a couple of weeks, but I know you didn’t want me out in the field right now.”

“We are handfasted and married…you shouldn’t have to find the nerve to talk to me about anything! We vowed to face everything together and to always be there for one another. And I wish you hadn’t put it off. Everybody tries to ‘live in the moment and appreciate it’, but we forget to truly appreciate it sometimes. I don’t want any of us to have regrets.”

Luke sighed, looking at the softly lapping water and stars twinkling just beyond the bridge where they sat. “You’re right. I really hate to let you down and have been worried that the stress could hurt the baby, since you’ve had a rough second trimester.”

“It’s okay and we’re okay. I promise. I’m scared about the danger you’re going to be in, but the baby and I will be fine, and the kids were always pretty easy going about us going on missions. I’ll ask Eva to come stay with us while you’re gone and it’ll feel more normal for them with you gone, then. Just don’t avoid talking about things with me please. Our marriage deserves better than that.”

After clearing the lump in his throat Luke replied, “I made them agree to moving us to a permanent safe house. It has two houses, so one for Sylo to live in, since she has lived in a home beside us for so long that I won’t let them separate you two, and then a place for our family. It won’t be as big or nice as our house currently is, but the agent who called back with the new home information said it’s plenty big enough for us, a room for Niall and Emma, plus a separate nursery for this little one. I told them I wouldn’t even consider it without making sure you all were moved somewhere safe, just in case something happens.”

Bre smiled softly at her husband, taking in his earnest expression and the little crease that always appears between his eyebrows when he’s concerned. “It means a lot that you made sure that they’re taking care of us in case of anything. And I’m glad you’ll be with us tomorrow to help start the move. Plus, you get to tell Sis that she’s moving!” Bre laughed. “Eva has grown used to apartment life and wouldn’t bat an eye at being told to move, but Sylo…she’s going to give you hell!” Bre rubbed her rounded belly, wondering what this new chapter in life will hold, and then looked Luke in the eye. “Just try to come home to us. The mansion isn’t what made our place our home. It’s our family that does that.”

Luke sighed in relief and then smiled in wonder at his wife. “I should have handled this better. Thank you for being…you. And I know I said it earlier, but want you to know I mean it. You look beautiful tonight, love.”

I hope you don’t mind that I decided to blog a little scene that formed in my mind when I decided to change my landscape. I haven’t written dialogue for a long time, so please forgive any mistakes there! *grin* I just had this little movie in my mind and when I found Luna te Amo in the Destination Guide…*chef’s kiss* If you like a photogenic place, you MUST check their place out. The group is free to join, which gives you rez rights, too, although they have various seating arrangements in the different areas, which I took advantage of on the non-beach side of the property.

Whimsical Designs Gives Us LoveMomma’s Liberty

Just in time for the US holiday, Whimsical Design’s gives us two patriotic options at The Main Event. The first is a cute bikini set, but at five months along, Bre is a little more comfortable in the Tank and Shorts Fatpack. The set has 5 jean shorts and 6 4th of July themed tank tops, available at Corfu Beach.

Luane’s World has redone the amazing sim again and had an amazing spot to feature my perfect outfit while admiring the new landscaping (and getting a few ideas for redoing our own land *smile*). There are gorgeous new beach and wooded areas to explore and even take pictures at. A cute wood cabin on top of the hill overlooking the beach and ocean was absolutely perfect to capture the moment, in my opinion.

The AO is a little awkward for the pregnant body, but I wanted to show just how cute these look together 🙂

Some maternity clothing doesn’t look quite as cute to me as the pregnancy progresses, so I’m so tickled by how this set looks awesome even past the halfway mark! I know what outfit Bre will be sporting while kissing Luke while playing with the sparklers again this year (and the HUD offers other colors!). *smile* On behalf of The Kincaid Family and my RL family, I wish you a happy 4th filled with family, fun, and yummy food, even if it’s not a holiday where you are!

Celestial Blue and Meauxle Bureaux

Last night Bre and Luke explored Meauxle Bureaux after spotting it on the Destination Guide. According to the guide: “Meauxle Bureaux is the home of the Linden Department of Public Works, a program focused on improvements related to the experience of living in and visiting the Linden Mainland. This intricate build was lovingly crafted by resident experts for all to enjoy, so come see the ultimate in shared creative spaces!” Since we love our LL log cabin and all of the incredible work that the Linden “moles” have done, we had to go check it out.

This was the perfect opportunity to dress up in Whimsical Design’s Michaela Dress in a celestial blue texture and celebrate the start of Peanut’s third month. The dress will make even the most pregnant woman feel sexy, so if you have the LoveMomma or LoveBody, you should definitely try this out! As the Trace Adkins country song goes, “You’re one hot mama”!

Meauxle Bureaux is a super neat place with a mixture of shops/buildings to represent the different moles, along with fun signs to read (you must read the obelisk outside of Abner Mole’s!) and uplifting landscaping. We wandered around for a bit before we settled into Abner’s Pub while chatting and camming around.

We then headed back over to Luanes World to explore more of the changes she made to the landscape and found the cutest wagon with built in poses. Most aren’t well suited to a dress, so we are definitely going back in casual clothing and having a romantic little photography session. So sweet and romantic!

There’s a cute little cabin right beside the lake that we sat on the porch of as we enjoyed the peacefulness Luane created. We couldn’t resist a little kiss and selfie before leaving, though. *grin*

Something New – Absolute Perfection pose (the store is currently moving, but the old store is still open when I last popped in during a hunt. Luke liked this pose because it showed off the wowzer sideview of cleavage with this dress. *laugh* I promise that the front IS covered though, as you saw in the above pictures.

Before we left I couldn’t resist one last picture to show off the awesome technology of the LoveMomma fitted dresses. Once Bre made it to the third month the baby bump started to show a bit more (oh my goodness, how adorable!). This dress fits the LoveBody and all stages of LoveMomma’s pregnancy, so this went from a regular flat beauty and is gently expanding over the bump without distorting any of the textures (which some legacies probably have painful memories of horribly distorted textures on our old clothing, so how awesome is this?!!). It’s hard to believe that I’ve now been Bre for enough years to have gone from clothing layers that distorted over body parts and into crevices, over to mesh and then fitted mesh, and now to this new rigged mesh that is mind blowing in comparison. So yeah, I totally had to do a close up and show off how far SL has come and it was a great opportunity to show how gorgeous the texture is on this dress. *grin*

Can pixels get much cuter than this baby bump? 😀

A super awesome feature of choosing the standard 9 months of pregnancy with the Zooby LoveMomma Body is that although I was down and out with Covid for nearly a month, our little SL Peanut was just fine and now that I am starting to get better, we got to celebrate the tiny bump Bre is developing!

I went ahead and made the belly semi-transparent so little Peanut shows right above the belly button 🙂

I couldn’t resist this sweet picture that just came about while trying other things.

I should be working on landscaping for Spring and really changing things up, but I spent the whole evening exploring new clothing options for the body, honestly. *laugh* It’s like when Maitreya first came out, all over again, especially since Bre will be in this body into November. *grin*

I used the top from a combo outfit and the alpha didn’t quite work perfectly, but I couldn’t resist something showing that tiny bump. *grin* The full combo outfit is {bb} Mommy Outfit #17 (Bluebird Baby; also on MP), while I used the top alpha from Sweet Penelope’s Sport Top.

KC Couture is starting to offer a variety of shoes that include for Momma, along with the usual mesh feet, so I’ve been obsessed with their affordable options. The cute Awena sandals (not visible, but definitely deserves some credit!) from there have a ton of customizable parts. They’re shoes I’d actually wear IRL, regardless if I was PG, so I couldn’t leave them out.

Of course the Zooby LoveMomma Body (2.2) is available here (although locations may change as they get settled into having a whole shopping experience from child avatars, animesh children, and then the two mesh bodies).

And as I will use each month, the Belly Progress pose by Veiled Bae.

I couldn’t resist a little extra because I’m totally loving this free gift (mini HUD!) from Flrn Baby’s! The Lae Love Momma Top & Sarong Gift is so fun and perfect while I’ve been looking for the perfect bathing suit. Notes; this is a free join group, with amusing and cute group gifts, so it’s worth joining if you have a spot; but this gift also has no bikini bottom or alpha. So far I haven’t run into a need for an alpha other than some leg clipping that would have happened anyway with my AO and I just used the panties that generously come with the body (shhh *grin*) under the sarong.

I think Emma was just happy for a little pool time with Mommy!

Although I don’t post for Truth, I have a hard time not wearing Unravel. The perfect bit of curl and somehow accentuates the body changes, in my opinion.

As I continue to improve, I have so many fun things to blog! I found some cute poses for Luke and Bre working on the nursery, some adorable maternity clothing, and we even managed to wander a few neat places that we’d like to share, so lots more cuteness to come! 🙂
